The plaids in these pieces are familiar, and they evoke a feeling of nostalgia. They’re representative of old conditioned patterns and ways.
The piece is made from upcycled flannel shirts that have been cut up and reassembled into a new design — letting go of old traditions and saying goodbye to well-known friends. The piece is covered with contemplative stitching that holds it all together, mending the broken disparate pieces and birthing the new.
